Monthly Favs | June 2022

I miss doing these posts and YouTube videos. It’s always nice to look back and see what your favorite things were throughout the year. I don’t think I discovered much “new” stuff in June, but I know I had a lot of favorites. Let’s jump right into it… before I get distracted lol.

Most of the list consists of food but you know what. That’s fine. We’re here for the foodie pics lol.

Red Bull

I definitely ended up kick starting my obsession with energy drinks again. But this time with Red Bull. Energy drinks usually don’t do anything for me but lately these have made me feel like I can do all the things. And it makes me want to do all the things. It’s just drinking it at 3am to game all night is not the move. I’m getting old ya’ll.

Recap 2021; Best Of

The Best Of 2021. There’s a ton of things I stumbled on this year that I loved and there’s a few things I know I’m missing. I typically make one of these every year but I don’t really blog about them, I just post them on IG or something. But this year I wanted to recap a few things and a few favorites I had. 2021 was such a weird year I’m sure for a lot of us. We finally got to taste a bit of freedom again. And man did that feel so good!

Entertainment

I admit, I didn’t get to read as many books or see as many movies as I had hoped to. I did manage to finally see Hamilton and even though I knew most of the songs already before watching it, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The soundtrack has been playing nonstop in my head and in my life daily since like October. I did catch a bit of the movie my friend Nicolas Dromard (he was the SF Fiyero a few years back) is in! It’s on the Hallmark Channel. I had hoped to watch more Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel and just in general but that didn’t really work out. I get pretty much just one day a week to myself where no one bothers me and I’m always aware of how fast that day goes.

As for tv shows there were a few I had wanted to get to. I did binge Schitt’s Creek. I’m currently on the last 2 episodes and I don’t want it to end honestly. That show was everything I didn’t know I needed in my life. Seriously. I am *IN LOVE* with that show. Other than that, Tums was on an all Bluey kick for a good few months. And for a “kids” show there’s some really valuable advice for parents in those episodes. But I truly believe everyone needs a dad like Bandit. He’s parenting goals, foreal.

I’m going to make a totally different post about all the favorite music I had, I put down You Got It by Vedo since it was one I was listening to pretty much all year. But there are a few others that were also on constant repeat all year.

I didn’t hit my goal of 25 books in 2021 but I did manage to finish The Cassidy Blake series and for a middle grade it’s so good. If you’re into historical fiction and quirky characters, I’d def recommend! My favorite of the series has to be Tunnels of Bones because it takes place in France and the history behind things I didn’t know about Paris was so fascinating! I had messaged my friend who was born and raised in France (who I worked with at Disney) if things were true. I would also live message him while watching Emily in Paris which I never finished. I should though, at some point.

While I bought a ton of new games, I didn’t really play much of them. I started playing Stardew Valley and it is a lot more demanding than Animal Crossing, and the opening tutorial for SDV can get a little confusing. Plus the graphics are really something I need to get use to. I have been religiously playing a game called Solitaire Farm on my Galaxy Tab. It’s such a cute game where you can unlock new items to upgrade your farm with and the challenges are actually really fun to complete! I should write about it some day. I really miss playing games and new games, I really want to make more time to do that in 2022.

November 2020 Favs

If there’s anything I look forward to every month it’s finding new favorites. And Amazon’s list for First Reads. It’s been awhile since I wrote a Favs list, and these were one of my favs to write!

November felt like it flew by, but then again most months do despite 2020 feeling like five years long. How that’s possible is beyond me but it’s 2020, things aren’t making sense that much around here.

ON TO THE FAVORITES;

Seriously Geeky Sundays | Animation

Okay I’m not doing these in order but IT’S OK! Heather at Geeking-By hosts Seriously Geeky Sundays on her blog! It looks super fun and I just recently discovered it!

I’m starting with the topic of Animation!

  1. What is your favourite Disney movie?
Ooh, this is tough! I have a lot of favorite Disney movies! It’s between Tangled, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland and Return to Oz — which isn’t animated but eh.

  • What is your favourite non-Disney movie?
I have feel good movies like 13 Going on 30, Serendipity, 27 Dresses… but lately I’d have to say it’s The Greatest Showman!
Dangit, you meant animated didn’t you? Anastasia!

  • What is your favourite animated show?
I personally find it ironic that my response for this is an anime: Fairy Tail
Also The Devil is a Part Timer and Yuri on Ice were some other favs.
  • What was your favourite childhood show?
Doug, Reboot, Gargoyles! Mostly stuff from One Saturday Morning. I miss that!
I had a lot! One I can never find anything on is Princess Gwenevere!
  • Who is your favourite animated character?
I collect all things Cheshire Cat and Buzz Lightyear.
  • What is your favourite piece of music from animation?
History Maker from Yuri on Ice
Friends On The Other Side from Princess and the Frog
Be as One from Fairy Tail

This was so fun to do! You can join in whenever you want to and if you’re big on animation I’d love to see your answers! Also, I stopped doing the gif’s cause it started to lag with the new editor. Whomp haha.

Happy Sunday!

Review — Lush Eggplant Bath Bomb

img_2173

I’ll be honest; I had no intention of buying this Bath Bomb.

When I saw the promo shot for Lush’s Valentine’s Day products I was like that one’s a nope. They had previewed the Eggplant and Peachy Bath Bombs and they were obviously pulled from emoji’s which I have no problem with. Keep with the times.

It wasn’t until I saw someone’s Bath Bomb video that I was like: huh, that actually looks really pretty.

Granted I’m a sucker for the colors purple and pink.

I stopped taking baths for awhile because adjusting to pregnancy changes and pains were getting hard and usually when I’m laying in the bath I get really bad heartburn; I’m not sure if it’s because I’m laying on my back or what. Not to mention Baby Lo is usually VERY much active when I’m in the bath so it doesn’t help with the heartburn aspect.

But because my back has been in so much pain and discomfort lately I decided to give in and start them again. Not to mention that Bubba has been stocking me up with Lush products the last 2 trips, I think he was trying to encourage me to take more baths anyway.

I’ve always loved taking bubble baths since I moved out on my own. It’s the one thing I look forward to at the end of every day; just relaxing in a nice smelling bubbly bubble bath. Something about it just makes me feel so refreshed when I get in bed.

Dallas Eats — Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie

img_0920

Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie located in Uptown Dallas, TX is a bakery that’s been on my foodie bucket list for awhile.

They always feature the cutest shaped Macarons and most recently they added letter and number cakes to their menu’s. We’re actually planning on getting one for Baby Lo’s baby shower!

img_1329

They offer not only a huge range of Macarons to choose from but mini cakes and tarts as well. They also do full sized cakes and Macaron Towers for events.

img_0924

Bubba went ahead and grabbed a box of Macarons for us to try and I grabbed a pastry. I’m trying to remember the flavors he grabbed; Tiramisu, Gingerbread, Mint Chocolate, Coconut, and I can’t remember the last two… I wanna say Lemon and Raspberry but I’m not 100% sure anymore lol.

We’ve tried a handful of Macaron places in the last 2 years but this place as BY FAR been one of the best Macaron places we’ve tried! The flavors are definitely there and will definitely punch you in the throat! I wasn’t a big fan of the Gingerbread simply because you could TASTE the Ginger and pretty strongly at that! Bubba however loved it. My fav of all of them had to be the Toasted Coconut.

img_0922

That awkward moment when you’re trying to take blogger photos in front of the bakery and you accidentally actually EAT the Macaron lol!

Bubba was snapping the photos and he’s like; “DID YOU BITE INTO IT?!” lmao whoops. I couldn’t resist lmao!

If you’re ever in the Uptown Dallas area or looking for a bakery that sells true to flavor Macarons I HIGHLYYYY suggest checking out Bisous Bisous!

Winter Favs: Colourpop Liquid Lippies

IMG_8553

I LOVE Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks!

They’re one of the first liquid lipsticks brands I’ve tried. They can be a bit drying, but I think all liquid lip can be to some sort of drying. I always put on lip balm then do my normal makeup routine THEN put on the liquid lippie last so it gives the balm time to sink into my lips. Especially since I struggle with dry lips, all year round.

These are a few of my fav reds that I like using during the holiday season — though some of these I also like to grab year round.
