I had planned to do Blogtober this year but I didn’t factor in that we were moving this week and how much mental space that would take, especially considering that our day of move was LESS than smooth. It was actually horrible. We came in a week earlier to figure out space and where to put things and noticed that the construction workers were using our fridge to store their lunches and apparently alcohol. When I went to return the key I told them about it and they said they’d have it all cleaned and sanitized.
On move in day nothing was cleaned or sanitized. I went and disinfected the whole inside of the fridge, the shower and the bathroom floors in the master bedroom. I haven’t cleaned anything in the guest room/bathroom yet since we’re still working on moving things in and there would be no reason to when it would just drive me crazy that everything is getting “dirty” again. We were also missing our microwave rotating plate and our hot water was off. Which we didn’t even notice until we went to take a shower at 330am. So yeah, we took miserable cold showers.
We’ve now moved everything from our old apt to our new one and omg, I had like 3 boxes of candles. Idk how I got to this point, honestly but I’m absolutely over it at this point. I have a hard time letting go of things but this is insane. I shouldn’t have 3 full boxes of candles. And that doesn’t even include the insane amount of wax melts I also found.
Moving really makes you realize just how much shit you have and how much you’ve held on to.
This week has been a bit of a blur; I did manage to finish some books which is always good but now I’ve dove into the never ending hole of ooh let’s add this to the wishlist crap. I still have high hopes I’ll finish a few more of my Fall TBR so I can move on to a few retellings in September.
I’m going to save the small weekly recap part of this post for the end because the photos came out a bit larger than I expected.
I have a tendency to do this; I dream big and I plan big and tbh some people find that uncomfortable or outside of THEIR comfort zone and project that on to ME making me feel like my plans, goals or ideas are too big and honestly who gets to say that about someone else’s life? Ironically I’ve found that the people who’ve never chased a dream, had a BIG idea or moved away/refuse to move away from their comfort zone are the exact people who will make you feel like you’re wrong.
It’s hard to know who these people are because they can be anyone in your life without you even knowing it. And if it’s someone whos opinion you value, it’ll influence you to rethink your goals. And honestly that’s not going to help anyone. I’ve learned that suppressing your dreams to make someone else comfortable kills a part of yourself.
I need to realize that it doesn’t matter WHO someone IS in my life, if they have the audacity to make me feel small knowing that I DREAM BIG (always have, always will) then they’re not the people I need to be speaking to.
I try to surround myself with like-minded people and people who are either on their way to where I want to be or who have been there. It helps to surround yourself around people who have the same goals as you, to bounce idea’s off of or just to talk to and vent to on the day it seems like a lot.
This is my intention for the week; to remember that not everyone wants to see you win. And that’s fine, just make sure to not let those people get you down.
Throwback to my counter placement in 2015 — even though Florida doesn’t believe in Fall.
It’s finally October!
Which is the most wonderful time of my year!
This year I decided to participate in #BLOGTOBER as I usually do but I also wanted to do what I did last year as well which was make a weekly VLOGtober weekly recap. Sadly I wasn’t able to prep for Blogtober the way I usually do since September was eaten up by nausea and a crap ton of morning sickness! Which may come as a surprise since I haven’t announced it yet that I’m pregnant but ‘ll get into that later in the week.
But because of that I’m also wayyy behind of decorating my apartment for Fall as well, it’s already OCTOBER and I don’t have ANYTHING set up yet! It’s definitely giving me a stronnng sense of anxiety since I usually start up late July/Early Aug. Which I thought to this year but morning sicknses hit me RIGHT AFTER, sigh.
So, between writing daily blog posts and coming up with product shots and all this and that, I’m also working on tidying up my apartment and setting up for Fall with the few weeks I have left to enjoy it before having to take it all down for Winter. These seasons are just WAY too close together!
What are your plans for this month? Are you going to participate in Blogtober?
